1. Policy Overview

Maweshi Mandi operates a verified livestock marketplace where animals are sold based on clear listings, verification processes, and buyer confirmation. Due to the nature of live animals, Maweshi Mandi follows a strict no-return policy, aligned with Islamic (Shariah) principles and commercial best practices.

2. No Return Policy

  • Once an animal is delivered, verified, and accepted by the buyer, returns are not permitted under any circumstances.
  • Live animals cannot be returned due to welfare, health, and logistical constraints.
  • Acceptance of delivery constitutes final completion of sale.

3. Shariah Basis for No Returns

Under Islamic commercial law:

The sale of a specific, identified animal becomes binding (Bay' Lazim) after:

  • Full disclosure
  • Buyer inspection
  • Delivery and acceptance (Qabz)

Once the buyer confirms receipt, the right of cancellation ends. A change of mind is not a valid Shariah reason for refund after acceptance.

4. When Refunds Are Permitted (Strict Conditions)

Refunds are allowed only before delivery or at the time of delivery, in the following cases:

4.1 Misrepresentation (Khiyar al-Wasf)

Animal materially differs from the listing in:

  • Breed
  • Gender
  • Animal type
  • Weight beyond the stated tolerance range

4.2 Undisclosed Defect (Khiyar al-'Ayb)

  • Serious illness or injury that was not disclosed prior to sale.
  • Must be identified at the time of delivery.

4.3 Non-Delivery

Failure to deliver the animal within the committed delivery timeframe.

5. No Refund Will Be Issued If:

  • Buyer changes their mind after confirmation.
  • Buyer accepts delivery and completes verification.
  • Buyer fails to report an issue at delivery time.
  • Refund request is made after 4 hours of delivery completion.
  • Complaints are based on personal preference or minor variations.
  • Claims are raised after escrow release.

6. Verification & Acceptance Process

To ensure fairness and transparency:

  • Pre-delivery video is provided for buyer review.
  • Buyer acknowledges the animal before dispatch.
  • At delivery, buyer must:
    • Provide a unique verification code, and/or
    • Allow delivery personnel to capture delivery proof (photo).

Completion of this process is considered final acceptance.

Important: Refund requests must be submitted within 4 hours of delivery completion.

7. Escrow & Dispute Handling

  • Buyer payments are held in escrow for up to 5 days after delivery.
  • Valid disputes must be raised within this period.
  • Maweshi Mandi reviews disputes based on evidence.
  • The platform's decision after review is final and binding.

8. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds are processed within 5 working days.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method only.
  • No partial refunds are issued after delivery acceptance.

9. Platform Authority

Maweshi Mandi reserves the right to:

  • Accept or reject refund claims based on evidence.
  • Suspend accounts for misuse of refund or dispute mechanisms.
  • Update this policy to remain compliant with law and Shariah principles.

10. Agreement

By placing an order on Maweshi Mandi, buyers and sellers agree to this Refund Policy in full.
